Thanlon MLA warns action against errant employees

CCpur, July 01 2017: Thanlon MLA and MTDC Chairman Vungzagin Valte has fervently appealed to all Government employees posted within his Constituency to be stationed at their respective places of posting and concurrently warned them of stern action if they fail to do so.

Valte was addressing the inaugural function of Thanlon SDO/BDO complex at Thanlon yesterday where he urged Government employees posted there to be in stationed with the aphorism – ‘work is worship.’
The Manipur Tribal Development Council Chairman was in his home Constituency along with HAC Chairman and Henglep MLA TT Haokip to inaugurate the SDO complex and to witness the handing over of SBI building and staff quarters to the bank authority .

He said any Government official who neglect his or her duty will be assumed to be against the development of Thanlon AC and any form of action initiated against them would of their own doing.

He also conveyed his desire to see a rejuvenated Thanlon with the opening of the SDO/BDO office there along with a fully equipped bank.

Officials from other departments, particularly teachers and medical practitioners, he added should also ensure that they are stationed along with the local administrators at all times .

Very soon a fully functional civil administration at Thanlon would be a reality and the Army as well as the BRTF posted there have also done a commendable job in this regard, he said .

HAC Chairman TT Haokip recalled the days he was posted as the Manager of UBI Thanlon in 1986 and commended the local MLA for leaving no efforts to restore the beautiful township to its earlier glory .

He particularly expressed the need to sensibly utilise the services of banks and shared his experiences with the people of the interior populace .

The duo also inspected the 132/32 KV power station of the Electricity Department and claimed that the station too would be inaugurated very soon .

It is said that the Thanlon power station will be the main feeder for its subordinate stations at Pherjawl, Sinzawl, Henglep, and Parbung .

The DC and ADC of Pherzawl district, police officials of the district and other DLOs also attended the function.

Upon the MLA’s arrival at Imphal today, he immediately convened a meeting at the MTDC office with the DCs and SPs of Pherzawl and Churachandpur along with officials of the telecom companies BSNL and Airtel.

The meeting reportedly discussed ways and means to include Thanlon in the telecom radar at the earliest .

Sources said the BSNL has promised to make their tower at Thanlon functional before August 15.The company also reportedly told the MLA that they will start laying cables very soon .

Airtel officials have also assured to erect their towers at Songtal, Sinzawl, Suangdoh, Thanlon and Aina within a specific time frame .

The MLA along the DCs and SPs met the Chief Secretary after their meeting to request vehicles for the SDO and the police.
