Parbung: Manipur Chief Minister Pu Biren Singh today inaugurated the 1st Ginger Festival-cum-Business Summit at Parbung village in Pherzawl District.
The chief minister’s helicopter landed at Parbung in the afternoon at about 1.10 pm. He was accompanied by Minister for PWD, DIPR and Commerce & Industries Th Biswajit Singh, Minister for Horticulture Th Shyamkumar, MTDC chairman & Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte, BJP leader Dr. L Fimate and others. “Around 200 acres of land has been reserved for ginger farming in Pherzawl District and the government will provide assistance to farmers. The government will contribute Rs 75 lakh for ginger farming under Mission Organic and Rs 35 lakh will be in the form of grants,” Singh told the farmers who have come from various villages.
